Katrina Kaif, who believes love is the most beautiful thing in the world, wants veteranlyricist Gulzar to pen a love poem for her.

“Nobody has ever written a poem for me. But if actually someone writes a poem for me, I think that will be very romantic,” she said at the launch of Pritish Nandy’s book oflove poems Tonight, This Savage Rite.

Looking her best in an off white-knee length dress, Katrina, 26, surprised everyone when she said: “I want Gulzar saab to write poems for me.”

Gulzar, 74, who has written innumerable songs for Hindi films and has many poetry books to his credit, was present at the event and said: “Inshallah, I would write a poem for Katrina for sure.”

“Even though love is known to entail pain, disappointment, disillusionment, still I don’t want to be pessimistic about love. I would rather want to have a positive approach tolove. I believe that there can be a happy ending, because love is the most beautiful thing in the world,” she said.

Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez who has worked in three films but haven’t had much luck at the box office, is now pinning her hopes on the sequel of Murder to catapult her into Bollywood’s big league.

She is the Bhatts’ preferred choice over Mallika Sherawat – whose passion play with Emraan Hashmi was one of the reasons why many folks flocked to theatres to see the 2004 flick – for Murder 2, to be directed not by Anurag Basu, but by Mohit Suri.

“The character I play is balanced. She is bold. She is sensuous. She is clever. But at the same time it’s a character every girl can relate to,” Jacqueline said while talking about her character. She said to reporters.

Jacqueline is not unaware that there would comparisons drawn with Mallika Sherawat.

“We all know what ‘Murder’ did for Mallika… It’s natural that people will makecomparisons and it’s also natural that it will make me quite nervous and put me under pressure,” Jacqueline candidly admitted.

But what spurs up her confidence is the fact that the Bhatts are behind her.

“They are very cool. They are like family. I am just looking forward to the shoot as I know that I am in good hands,” she said.

At a book launch by author-filmmaker Pritish Nandy recently, actress Katrina Kaif raved about love.

“Though I am not an avid reader but I like romantic books. Love is a good thing. At times in love, there are disappointments…one must not keep expectations. I like to be positive in love. I believe in happy endings,” Katrina is quoted to have said at the function at a bookstore in suburban Bandra.

Her comment is quite loaded with meaning if you consider the fact that she wasrecently spotted enjoying a car ride with Ranbir Kapoor.

The book that was released was on love poems ‘Tonight, This Savage Rite’ by Nandy and Kamala Das.

“After meeting him (Nandy) I got very much interested in his subject of love. Poems are a way of expressing your love. They are so beautiful,”Katrina said.

When asked whom she would love to gift the love poems in Bollywood, the actress said, “I would like to give a book of love poems to all the unmarried men.”

Surely the lot includes Ranbir as well.

When Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan get together to show their antics, expect a blast.

The duo regaled the audiences at the Filmfare Awards in Mumbai on Saturday night by spoofing a few popular acts of the year, but nothing could beat their parody of Ethan and Sophia, played by Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai, from director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Guzaarish.

Rahman's 'Sajna' In Michael Bolton' Album - Latest Bollywood News Gossips

New Delhi, May 10 -- Oscar winning Indian composer A.R. Rahman's song "Sajna" from "Couples Retreat" features in a new avatar in Grammy award winning Michael Bolton's latest album "Gems - The Duets Collection".

"When I first met Michael, we got to talking about music, philosophy, the universe, and many things that we had in common. I wanted Michael to do a bit of singing that he's never done before, without compromising on his musicality," Rahman said in a press statement.

The album also includes musical collaborations with Grammy award winning American band Rascal Flatts, international pop star Seal, Australian singing sensation Delta Goodrem, famed late vocalist Eva Cassidy and Rahman.

"It was an incredibly rewarding experience recording this album. The opportunity to work with legendary talent like David Foster, Dan Huff, A.R. Rahman and some of the absolute greatest singers and recording artists in the entire world was inspiring. I can't wait to share the special music we all created with the world," said Bolton.

The album, to be released on Sony Music, is Bolton's 21st, and will be in stores starting June 21.

The discovery of a dyed cotton fabric date back to the Indus Valley civilization shows that the art of dyeing with the use of mordants was well ..

known to the Indian dyers 5,000 years ago. This form of dyeing was responsible for making India famous all over the world for its dyed and printed fabrics. Printed fabrics have also been found in Fostat, the old Cairo City. Recent excavations of Red Sea ports have also brought out a greater range of printed textile. These date back to 800 A.D. There technique and design point to western Indian origin. Indian dyers had mastered the art of dyeing with speedy colors from ancient times whereas in Europe this was unknown. Indian dyers were considered magicians by travelers, who saw them putting a white cloth into a pale liquid of indigo dye and when the cloth appeared from the dye bath it was still white.
A number of printing technique have been urbanized in different centers. They are direct printing, resist printing, and screen printing.

In certain cases, the cloth is painted by using by using a pen with dyes and mordants. This method is known as kalamkari, a pen work. In others, the techniques of printing and kalamkari are combined by printing the outline of the design and filling in the details with a kalam, a pen.
The batik technique is a development from this form of resist printing. Here the fabric is painted with molten shine and then dye in cold dyes after which the cloth is washed inhot water. This results in the melting of the buff and emergence of the patterns cloth. The effect of the resist technique in printing is soft and subdued and the outlines are not so clearly defined in the case of the painted batik.
